When Jesus died on the cross, many of his disciples went away, only the women remained at his side. And it was they who bore witness to the resurrection.
Christianity understands the resurrection as a demonstration of what happens after death, that is, the step that will extend the human material existence with God.
Easter is for the annual commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a glorious mystery.
